Life Lessons

We all do it,   Especially, when we go on Vacations... We as moms put together this amazing mental to do list and deep down want EVERYTHING on the list to get accomplished.. Some how.... Some way!!!
So here we are on the very last day of our vacation and I am determined to get these kids out to the Marina for pictures. I mean I have bought and brought the cutest little sailor outfit for Sol and soooo want him to stand perfectly in front of the sailboats at the marina for his picture.. :)

Not, Once did this child even attempt to look at me, I jumped, yelled, made funny noises, laughed and threw out a few whistles and I finally got this..

And,  just when I think I got him..  HE notices this....

And proceeds to find the playground right around the corner... I have officially lost my baby boy to the wonderment of what can I get into first.. And the playground wins out..

I start to get excited again...  Very excited, this could not get any better I think to myself... He is dressed up and I can capture his very first trip down the slide with his Big Brother, In Florida down at the Marina... I am gleaming..   Sooooooo After careful explanation to Karson Noah on how we are going to put Solomyn on his lap, HE WOULD HOLD HIM VERY TIGHT and they would go down together for this momentous occasion... I go get all ready at the end of the slide to capture this MOMENT.....

Hmmmm... Once again not what I had envisioned coming down the slide..  And since, Solomyn was now done with that wonderful, not as fun as it looks experience we went off to try to get just ONE picture of the kids by the boats..

After all is said and done, Everyone had fun, No one got hurt and I did get to capture a few of the kids down by the rocks .. Life lesson # 256.. Anything you plan that has kids involved will not go as planned..  But, will turn out just fine..  :)

I Ceem

O.K.  so he only says a few words..  Well, three to be exact.. Mom,  Bye, and Hi...  And he really knows how to use them well ...  and when you are only one that is all that matters  and we are just happy he says something, sometimes, when he can..   Soooo... When I mention to the older kids we should go out for Ice cream, I hear this little voice behind me saying I ceem, I ceem, I ceem....  Now a simple little treat turned into a BIG deal and since we were in Beautiful Sarasota there is only one place to go to get this baby some I ceem..

So we load up and go to Kilwins out on St. Armands and get Solomyn the biggest waffle cone they have and say goooooo for it...   Here is the thing, once you give a one year old their own cone you DO NOT have the option of taking it back.. what ever happens.. Well... happens and this is when you just have to let go and go with it.. lol...   Grandma Susan is sitting next to Solomyn as I hand over this Amazing cone, Sol looks at me and just SMILES from ear to ear then looks at the cone and proceeds to bite off the bottom of the cone... YEP!! I laugh and just figure this is about to get FUN...

If you notice on the table the bottom of the cone has been nicely placed back on the table.. Because of his lip Solomyn has a hard time chewing hard things soooo he bit off then decided it was not for him and put it back on the table..  :)   Then he tried the I ceem..  and I will let the pictures speak for themselves. :)

Not only is he the cutest thing ever he is officially the messiest baby on the block.. His pants are completely covered in wet, sticky vanilla ice cream, his shirt is soaked and some how it has made it to his hair soo to keep from being asked to clean up the mess this baby is about to leave behind I quickly scoop him up and decide it is time to go for a nice long walk and window shop for a bit..

Ok,... I have to admit that I am in LOVE with all the little drips of ice cream that follow his every move.. from up and down the sidewalk to standing by the sea horse the drips falling from the bottom of the cone are Priceless and to think this was all because my little man decided to say I CEEM..

Just Breathe

Because we all need that special place, The kind of place where you can hang up your everyday hat, the one that you wear because you have to, the one that you wear because it shows the person you have become and who you have to be on an everyday basis. AND you trade it in for the whimsical hat of who you really are, you know the person deep down inside that needs to come out every now and then and just BREATHE....

The kids and I had two weeks of breathing in that wonderful air and soaked in every minute...  We immersed ourselves in the amazing friendships, the wonderful family time and of course lots of spontaneous fun...  I love the fact that even though we have been gone for almost 5 years The kids can pick up the phone and call there friends and they show up like they just saw each other yesterday.

( I hate that they look sooo grown up)

I also like that my girls show up also...  :)

While in town, the kids and I were asked to help out at a charity run at the beach.... And of course we jumped at the occasion to get up at 6:00 in the morning to help out and man the food table with Grandma Susan.. which was loaded with Starbucks coffee and lots of fresh fruit..

And I think some one might of sampled a few.. :)

We also had a Wonderful day out on Pap Paps boat...  The kids got to go fishing were a trout and catfish met there match between Madi and Daniel .. Then off to Lido beach were we met up with friends and the kids played for hours in the water, skim boarded, and went for long walks to see the many blue herons waiting for someone to catch a fish and throw it there way..

There is just something about being home, where everyone is just family, where you can just show up with out even a phone call and people are excited to see you and grilling out becomes whats for dinner because it is expected that you will be staying and the kids will be playing till dark and everyone is going to have an amazing time... And when you do not have the time to call after you have made it somewhere they are calling you to make sure you are o.k. and if there is anything they can do and if you need help and if you need them to take the kids for the day and .. and... and....  I mean there is nothing better then Family...
And after an amazing 2 weeks there we load up and go to the cottage on the beach.. where we bring tacos for dinner and just go for walks on the pier and Solomyn waves Hi and Bye to everyone he sees (including the poor homeless man who is just trying to read his book and my little one would like it more then anything if he would just look up and acknowledge the fact that he can say Hi and when he does the smile on his little face lights up the room and he now says Bye and smiles then walks around the corner )because he can and my boy is amazing at it and if we could all be that polite to everyone we saw what a better place this would be...

Life is just tooooooo short to not make the most of every minute we have.. to enjoy the small moments as much as the big the ones and be thank full everyday for the people in our lives.. Our family is blessed and since the material things could all be gone in a minute We will count our blessings by the Family and Friends we have to share our lives with and well that... is Amazing.. :)
